A little about me

Studies:

Bachelor of communication – Double major in Photomedia & Advertising
Currently studying Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Background:

First played with a Nikon SLR way back.  Whilst it would be nice to say that it was at this point that a long passionate interest in photography developed, was not really the case.  Whilst it has always been of some interest to me it is only over the past few years that this interest has developed further.

One of the largest contributors to how I see the world and shoot has come from my experience as a performance artist.  Having trained and performed in a variety of styles of dance and circus arts, those experiences can’t help but affect how I shoot now.

What do I get out of photography? Enjoyment…
Whether its shooting a bunch of friends on a fun day out, recording an important event, or shooting crazy fashions.  The power of the camera to either simply record or manipulate a subject to convey meaning is what keeps me interested.  Especially now when we are saturated with more and more dynamic media, I feel its important not to let the value of photographs get left behind.

Still on a journey looking for my ‘style’, sure to come across it someday, but for now its shooting a range of subjects with many different techniques and enjoying the adventure along the way.
